Reception Admissions

DEADLINE FOR ONLINE APPLICATIONS: 15TH JANUARY 2024

At St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, we host two Open Days for Reception in the Autumn term, Thursday 5th October at 2:00pm and Thursday 9th November at 6:00pm for prospective parents and carers of children who wish to apply to our school.  On these Open Days, parents and carers are given a tour of our school by pupils to see classes in action and have an opportunity to speak to senior leadership staff and current parents.

If you would like to apply for Reception year entry for your child (if born between 1st September 2019 – 31st August 2020) to attend St Joseph’s from September 2024, please read through our Admissions Policy below and note the criteria for ranking of applications in the event of oversubscription.

You will need to complete our Supplementary Information Form (SIF) below and return this to the school. Please include any relevant documents e.g. baptismal certificate and certificate of Catholic practice.

Incomplete application forms without accompanying documentation (where applicable) will be ranked as Criteria 13 ‘All Other Applications’. Hence please ensure that all paperwork is in order prior to handing these in to the School Office. 

Note that you will additionally need to apply to your Local Authority, no later than 15th January 2024.

The governing body has determined the admission arrangements for the 2024/2025 academic year of entry in accordance with Regulation 17 of the School Admissions Regulations 2012.  The determined arrangements and forms can be downloaded here.

 In accordance with Regulation 21 of the Regulations and Section 88 of the SSFA 1998, any person or body who considered that any maintained school or Academy's arrangements are unlawful, or not compliant with the Code or relevant law relating to admissions, can make an objection to the School Adjudicator.
